The founders of Coaching Dot Com are out with a new book that contains some of the coaching secrets many top executives depend on. We learned about "Leverage Your Best--Ditch The Rest" on 9News Daybreak.
Co-author Scott Blanchard, son of legendary business adviser Ken Blanchard, says the book is designed, in part, to help mid-level managers do a better job of reaching their potential.
"Bosses expect managers to do more with less and it's getting harder to assess life's direction when you're focused so hard on immediate choices," says Blanchard. Many of the tips are based on corporate coaches who've helped companies deal with everything from strategizing to merging clashing cultures.
Some of the tips in the book include:
. The Scrubdown: twenty-five questions that a coach would ask their client.
. The Three Perspectives - honing in on the client's self-image and abilities.
. The Seven Leverage Points that govern how we view and live our business and personal lives including -- Managing your Gifts, Getting Your Needs Met, Cherishing Your Valuables, Naming and Claiming Your Standards, Drawing Your Boundaries, and Eliminating Your Toleration
